Apple has launched a revised iteration of its Vision Pro headset, now equipped with a new M5 CPU. The business asserts that the processor delivers superior performance for AI applications and boosts display rendering relative to the prior model.
The latest model incorporates visionOS 26, which introduces features like spatial widgets and enhanced language support via Apple Intelligence. The headset includes a reengineered Dual Knit Band, which Apple claims enhances comfort with its dual-rib architecture and customisable fit dial.
Apple asserts that the M5 chip facilitates expedited program loading times and endorses hardware-accelerated ray tracing for gaming. The business asserts that the headset can display 10% more pixels than its predecessor, leading to enhanced text and images. The battery life is reported to extend up to two and a half hours for typical usage.
The Vision Pro headset provides access to over one million applications via the App Store. It accommodates material from streaming providers on displays that can extend up to 100 feet in width. The device is available for pre-order at a starting price of $3,499, with several storage configurations.
