Again, GTA 6 is late

Rockstar Games has declared a second postponement for Grand Theft Auto VI, rescheduling its release to November 19, 2026. The eagerly awaited title was initially slated for fall 2025 but has been deferred until May 2026.

In an official statement, Rockstar Games articulated their decision, stating: “We apologize for prolonging what we acknowledge has been an extended wait; however, these additional months will enable us to complete the game with the level of refinement you have come to expect and deserve.”

The postponement was confirmed during Take-Two Interactive’s second-quarter earnings report. As reported by IGN, Take-Two conveyed unequivocal support for Rockstar’s decision, asserting that the extra time will guarantee “an unparalleled blockbuster entertainment experience”.

The game will take place in the imaginary state of Leonida and will include a return to contemporary Vice City. Anticipation for the title is elevated following the extraordinary success of Grand Theft Auto V, which has sold over 210 million copies since its 2013 release, fostering expectations that its sequel will establish new benchmarks for open-world gaming.
