Khaleda Zia, leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), is responding positively to medical treatment, according to her personal physician, AZM Zahid Hossain.
He made this statement at a conference in front of Evercare Hospital in the capital at about 12:30 PM today, Tuesday.
The former prime minister has been receiving treatment in the hospital for the last 10 days. After a rapid decline in her health, she has been transferred to the ICU, where she is undergoing critical care.
Zahid Hossain said that it is feasible to provide treatment to Khaleda Zia, since she is exhibiting a positive response to the therapy.
The decision to transport her overseas for medical treatment will be determined by the medical board’s recommendations and her clinical status.
Zahid Hossain asserts that the BNP has finalised all arrangements to facilitate Khaleda Zia’s medical treatment overseas. Nonetheless, no actions may be taken outside the existing conditions or in violation of the medical board’s orders.
Zahid Hossain further said that a professional from the United Kingdom would arrive today to evaluate her condition. She will be evaluated, and if judged transportable, required, and approved by the medical board, she will then be sent overseas for suitable treatment.
