Apple introduced its thinnest smartphone to date, the iPhone Air, at its annual September presentation in California.
The smartphone, measuring 5.6 millimeters in thickness, boasts a grade 5 titanium frame with Ceramic Shield on both sides and is equipped with the company’s latest A19 Pro chip.
The announcement was presented by Abidur Chowdhury, an industrial designer at Apple, who characterized the new cellphone as “the thinnest iPhone ever, with Pro capabilities.” A conundrum one must embrace to accept.
Abidur stated that the objective was to “create an iPhone that embodies a sense of the future.”
Abidur Chowdhury, a native of London, has been employed in Apple’s San Francisco offices since 2019. A graduate in product design and technology from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, he previously collaborated with Cambridge Consultants, Curventa, and Layer Design before becoming an industrial designer at Apple.
