Google introduces Pixel Care+ to safeguard devices

Google has unveiled Pixel Care+, a newly launched protection program designed for its hardware products. This initiative provides extended coverage and enhanced repair services for owners of Pixel devices.

The initiative, which originated in the United States, is set to replace Google’s current Preferred Care and Fi Device Protection plans. These existing plans will transition into the new framework in the months ahead. Eligible devices can access Pixel Care+ within 60 days of purchase, irrespective of whether they were acquired through the Google Store or other retailers.

A recent blog post from Google reveals that the program will allow users to submit unlimited claims for accidental damage, mechanical faults, and warranty extensions. Repairs for prevalent problems, including screen and battery replacements, will be provided at no charge, with claims managed using authentic Google components. Optional extra coverage for loss and theft can also be included.

In a strategic move, Google has teamed up with the insurance provider Asurion to manage the service.  Customers have the option to submit claims via the Google Store or the My Pixel app, where they can choose specific locations and times for their repairs.  According to Google, replacement devices will be dispatched with complimentary expedited delivery, featuring next-day options.
