On September 9, the Asia Cup T20 will get underway

The long-awaited confirmation of the dates for the 2025 Asia Cup T20 has finally arrived, putting an end to months of speculation and uncertainty in the cricketing world.

In a significant announcement, Mohsin Naqvi, the president of the Asian Cricket Council and chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, took to his official X account on Saturday to share the news. The announcement was made following the conclusion of the ACC’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), which took place over the last two days in Dhaka.

“I am thrilled to announce the dates for the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE,” stated Naqvi on X.

“The highly anticipated tournament is set to unfold from September 9 to 28th.”

The much-awaited tournament, set to be a crucial stepping stone ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup later this year, is lined up to unfold from September 9 to 28 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In a significant development, India will maintain its hosting rights for this edition of the Asia Cup, a decision that aligns with the hybrid hosting arrangements previously established by the ACC.

The five full members of the ACC—Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka—have secured their spots in the tournament through automatic qualification.

Joining the fray will be Hong Kong, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, teams that clinched their places by finishing in the top three of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup.

This year’s tournament marks a shift from the previous edition’s 50-over format, as it adopts a shorter format to prepare for the highly anticipated T20 World Cup in India next year.
