Karoline Edtstadler, the former Minister for Europe and Constitutional Affairs in Austria, officially resigned from the government. She has also confirmed that she will not pursue a ministerial role in the upcoming administration.
Following the initial report in the Kronen Zeitung late Saturday night, a spokeswoman confirmed the decision to our news agency, the American Press Association.
Edtstadler, representing the conservative Austrian People’s Party (OVP), is actively participating in the negotiation team tasked with forming a coalition government in Austria following the recent election.
Following their departure from office, the politicians will remain active as members of Salzburg’s parliament and retain their ministerial role until a new government is formed.
