Meta, the parent company of Instagram, has announced that renowned actress Dame Judi Dench and professional wrestler-turned-actor John Cena will be available as voice options for its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot.
Users can access information through AI representations of Awkwafina, Keegan Michael Key, or Kristen Bell.
During the company’s annual Connect conference, chief executive Mark Zuckerberg unveiled several key announcements from the technology giant.
During the event, Mr. Zuckerberg introduced the inaugural working prototype of Meta’s augmented-reality (AR) glasses, named Orion.
In a recent statement regarding advancements in meta-AI, Mr Zuckerberg expressed his belief that voice interaction will prove to be a significantly more intuitive method of engaging with AI than text-based communication.
The latest features of the ChatGPT-like chatbot now include its ability to identify objects in photographs and provide users with relevant information about them.
Thanks to a new image editing feature, users will soon be able to modify their photos simply by communicating their desired changes to the Meta AI.
According to the firm, over 400 million individuals are currently utilizing Meta AI monthly, with 185 million of those users engaging with the platform weekly.
During a demonstration of the Orion glasses, Mr. Zuckerberg remarked, “Many individuals have described this as the most astonishing technology they’ve ever encountered.”
Orion will offer users the ability to engage through hand-tracking, voice commands, and a wrist-based interface.
Meta has unveiled a new entry-level model in its Quest series of mixed-reality headsets, the Quest 3S, which starts at $300 (£225).
Major technology companies worldwide have been developing augmented reality glasses; however, they have yet to introduce commercially successful products for the mass market.
In recent years, Meta has invested billions of dollars in the development of artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and various metaverse technologies.
